Community Building

We strive to provide the children and adults in our community with a safe place to learn, play, and grow. From the creation of community spaces to the integration of community policing, to changing the look and feel of our neighborhood block by block, MCI’s strives to build trust in the LIberty City community by fully integrating itself into all aspect of life in Liberty City.

You know you are in a special place when you walk the blocks in which MCI has organized the residents. Our community spaces are a safe haven for children and families located in the public housing developments in our Impact Zone. The community space houses the food bank, computers for kids applying for college or parents taking a GED course, a parenting class or applying for jobs; it is also the primary location for the distribution of school supplies, uniforms and resident bus cards for those that are needing transportation to school.

With the help of our partners and organizations who participate in our Day of Service program, we've been able to change the look and feel of our Impact Zone, block by block.
