Meet Anthony Pavon

This child is unforgettable…  Anthony is an eight year old boy with an  eighty year old soul. He is the type of child you remember forever. There is just something incredibly magical and special about him.  Anthony is respectful, precocious, very proper, with an impressive imaginative mind!
He is just fun to be around!
As a 3rd grader at Charles R. Drew K-8th Center, Anthony is enrolled in MCI’s “Project Promise” After School Program.  He also lives in MCI’s Impact Zone, specifically the eight blocks in which we are intentionally investing in children and families.
Anthony’s confidence and wisdom beyond his years keeps you captivated and interested in what he has to say.   We love and embrace Anthony as one of our own.  When we sat down with him to chat, here’s what he had to say…
Anthony what would you like to be when you grow up?
“I am not sure, but I was planning on being an engineer, then I want to be a zoo keeper, then a  dentist, or maybe I  just want to be an  astronaut.”
What do you like to do?
“I like to play outside with my friends. I also help my mom do chores around the house. Most of all  I like to do Karate and to read books. My favorite book is “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.”
Do you believe in Santa Claus?
“Yes” absolutely, “I read books and watch a lot of Santa Claus  movies, he has to be real!”.
Do you have any brothers or sister? “I have two brothers and I am the oldest, but I want a little sister too! We need to be four kids to be complete.”
No matter what career path Anthony decides to take in his future, he will be wildly sussessful. He will prove to the world that the children and youth of Liberty City matter.
