Meet Jabari Valdez

Jabari is a very smart nine year old boy who maintains  high grades in school. He attends Charles R. Drew K-8  Center and also participates in Miami Children’s Initiative after school program - Project Promise.  As many children his age, Jabari is very active, playful and full of energy. Kindness is the adjective that comes to mind when you spend time with him.
Here’s a glimpse into Jabari’s thinking…
What did you do for the holidays?
“I went to Orlando to visit with my family and celebrate  the new year. I saw fireworks and it was lots of fun!”
What are the things you like to do when you are out of school?
“I like to read and to play video games such as Mario Galaxy. ”
What is your favorite book to read and why?
“Judy Moody! It’s about a little girl who had a life almost like mine.”
Do you like to dance?
“NO! I don’t know how to dance and I am not good at it. I do it when nobody is watching”.
When asked how I should end this article, he said,  just say  “I’m Good!”
We are sure Jabari is good at everything he does. He does not like being the center of attention, but with his charm and good looks, it is sure to be unavoidable! He has success written all over him.
